The Education Cluster in Tajikistan is a coordination mechanism comprised of organisations working in the sector. The cluster recognises that all children have the right to education, even during emergencies and that during an emergency, education is a means of restoring a sense of normalcy and schools can provide a safe and protective environment for children.
In emergencies, the cluster focuses on ensuring that all children return to school and continue their education. Emergency assistance includes all critically needed interventions that will enable children to access education.
The cluster aims to prepare for and respond to disasters that impact the education sector within the country. The Education Cluster meets biannually to discuss emerging issues and ensure established procedures are relevant. During emergency situations the partnership works closely together, meeting regularly, and coordinating response and assistance.
